cassieCassie was dropped at our shelter one evening after she was found in a field. She came to us with a horrible case of demadex, a type of mange. Despite her condition she was a sweet and strong girl! As her foster Mom was caring for her she noticed her back legs were quite bowed and she was having difficulty walking. After a visit to the vet, her foster Mom took her to the University of Illinois in Urbana. They recommended surgery the very next day. While the prognosis is good we need help paying for her surgery. Cassie's unexpected surgery is not in our budget and we are looking for help for this sweet resilient puppy. To make a donation, click on the following link.

Kennel Club

The Kennel Club is an annual giving club that helps support KCHF’s efforts of rescuing, vetting and placing homeless animals into new loving forever homes. Each year KCHF experiences a shortfall between our income and our expenses. Our projected budget for 2014 is $250.000. By joining the Kennel Club as a supporter, you are showing your concern for the welfare of homeless animals that need our help. That concern is expressed in an annual gift of $100 or more. Supporters of the Kennel Club will learn first hand how their gifts make a significant impact on the animals’ lives...

KCHF Shelter Needs

vicOur on-going needs are just that, on-going. If you find any of these items at a good price and you wonder if it's currently needed at the shelter, you can assume that it probably is.

The Kankakee County Humane Foundation is a non-profit, no-kill Shelter that promotes the prevention of animal cruelty through rescue, spay/neuter, veterinary care, and the responsible adoption of homeless animals in Kankakee County.
